About Carol Parks
Writing has been a part of Carol Parks’ life ever since
she can remember. As a child, she carefully and
meticulously copied authors’ writing in perfect
penmanship. Throughout her student life, if given the
option of a paper versus an exam, the paper always won.
Always.
Thirty-Plus Years of Research about Natural Health
Carol began her exploration of alternative health and
preventive medicine in the late 70s when a friend
challenged her to read some Adelle Davis books, and she
soon found herself devouring information on many natural
health topics.
That interest took on new meaning
in 1982, when Carol’s father suddenly lost
vision in one eye – and all depth perception
with it – from undiagnosed diabetes (which was finally
diagnosed more than four months later). In the mid 1990s
he became gravely ill and was misdiagnosed by
traditional medicine three times. Multiple
doctors told him he was everything from crazy to
depressed – before they finally diagnosed him with
congestive heart failure.
Conventional
medicine’s inability to make the correct diagnosis, and
subsequently medicating him for the side effects of
other medications to the point being on 23 meds per day…
led to Carol’s indignation and disenchantment with
conventional medicine, as diabetes slowly drained away
his life. It all only served to solidify her passion for
natural health.
Carol’s own chilling,
life-threatening drug reaction to a medication
taken for a shoulder injury in 2004 intensified her
resolve to use nothing but natural medicine and
supplements. Period.
How Carol Became a Marketer
Meanwhile, Carol discovered the fascinating
field of marketing, while a home business
owner. She devoured every marketing book she could get
her hands on, and took marketing courses at then-nearby
Portland State University. As a business owner, she
quickly discovered the difference between effective and
poor marketing.
She had opportunity to apply
these marketing and sales principles ‘in the trenches’
as an insurance / investment salesperson, and as a real
estate agent, as well as in her home business.
Years later she discovered the direct response
copywriting program offered by American Writers
& Artists Institute (AWAI)… where she studied advanced
direct response copywriting techniques taught by
legendary copywriters like Michael Masterson and Bob
Bly. She began attending live training ‘Bootcamps’ to
enhance her skills even more.
As part of her
commitment to continuing education, Carol works with
award-winning copywriter and coach, Chris Marlow, a
leading expert in direct response copywriting, and Nick
Usborne, master of web copywriting… and studies the work
of Herschell Gordon Lewis, John Caples, Eugene Schwartz,
and David Ogilvy, along with today’s winning sales
packages to discover what’s working now in direct copy.
Recently she’s getting up to speed on social marketing
to offer cutting-edge solutions to her clients.
Carol develops winning marketing copy and strategies for

Carol’s Tennis Connection
Her tennis passion began when she was
first introduced to the sport at age 16. She played a
year of college tennis, and more recently spent ten
years traveling the national junior tournament circuit
with two of her children.
A long-time believer in
the importance of physical fitness, she commits to daily
exercise and organic eating (whenever possible) – and
pursuing her love of tennis.
She graduated from
the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a degree in
Recreation and Leisure Management, uniquely qualifying
her to write for tennis, fitness, and sports.
Family, Free Time, and Philanthropy
Carol currently resides in the exurbs near Ann Arbor,
Michigan, with her husband, Mark, and their youngest
daughter. Their three sons and other daughter are
currently spread out from Virginia to Oklahoma to
Hawaii.
When not writing, Carol enjoys hanging
out with her family, playing tennis and piano, walking
and jogging in her neighborhood, cooking healthful
foods, eating at gourmet restaurants, traveling the
world… and reading marketing books.
Carol
believes that since she has been blessed, she should in
turn use her time and resources to be a blessing to
others. So she donates to worthy causes… ranging from
her local church, to the Make-a-Wish Foundation, to
organizations that aid starving children around the
world and provide emergency relief for earthquake,
tsunami, and hurricane victims.
